ACTF Super Stars and ACTF Fantasticans secured 1stand 2nd runner-up in ATPL-21
It was a clash of titans in the final of ATPL 2021 here on Sunday where AISA Super Kings beat their formidable rival ACTF Super Stars in a super tie-break. ACTF Fantasticans beat Shaishya Stallions 4-0 to secure the 3rd position (second runner-up) in the 6th season of Ahmedabad Tennis Premier League here on Sunday.
While in the 1st Singles Vishal Sevak of AISA Super Kings beat Vivek Goenka of ACTF Super Stars with comfortable score of 10-3, the 1st Doubles was also in favour of the Super Kings duo Laval Bhatt-Pratik Rupareliya who beat their opponents Mukesh Devani-Tejas Shah 8-5. But the teams of ACTF Super Stars fought back in 2nd and 3rd Doubles and defeated their rivals 9-4, 9-4. As both the teams remain at the same level, a super tie-break was followed to decide the champion, in which Vishal Sevak & Aalap Sharma easily crushed their rivals Darshan Shah & Parag Kahtri with 10-2.
Whereas in the clash to decide the 3rd and 4th positions, three out of four games were very close where the players of Shaishya Stallions fought spiritedly before giving-up against the players of ACTF Fantasticans. In the 1st Singles, Santosh Osatwal beat Preyas Mehta (7-6), the scores for the 2nd and 3rd Doubles were also same with Ashish Patel-Jatin Shah & Yogesh Shah-Sachin Mastrulala beat Ajay Dhal-Kaushal Thirani & Aditya Sarabhai-Rajesh Jain respectively. Only in 1st Doubles, the teammates of ACTF Fantasticans could win rather an easy game against opponents Rashmin Sadrani-Pankaj Arora with 8-5.
Congratulating the champion team, Darshan Shah of ACTF Super Stars said that the AISA players handled pressure and crucial points pretty well. We being down by 2 matches after first round put a lot of pressure on our next 2 teams but they played like champions and brought us back into the tie. I must appreciate the grit and determination of AISA players who rose to the occasion and clinched the decider tie-breaker. Lastly, I would like to congratulate Suresh Maurya Sir and his team fororganising the entire tournament wonderfully. We look forward to playing such tournaments more often! Shah also congratulated the other teams ACTF Fantasticans and Shaishya Stallions for securing 3rd and 4th positions in the current season.Maulik Shah also praised fighting spirit and sportsman spirit of both winning teams who fought till end.
The captain of the winning team Pratik Ruparelya was very humble in his reaction when he said that though our team players deserve the credit, but we knew that we were playing against a team that was playing in the final for the sixth time! He said that, we executed our plan well. All our players performed exceptionally well in the finals as well as throughout the tournament.
